Are you good at face-to-face Networking?

Did you know that it can be the single most effective way to market your small or home based business?

I consult with clients every week on some of the best ways to market their business but truly the most effective one is Networking.  Why you ask?  Because for the small and home based business owner, your business is built on relationships and over time it flourishes with WOM (word of mouth advertising) too.

networkingSo what is the fastest way to build more relationships?

You need to meet as many people as you can and then keep in touch with them consistently and persistently in order to stay on top of their minds at all times.  So, networking is the fastest way to build your list of customers and prospects and even referral sources (other than paying for traffic online of course!).

You don't need to be afraid.  It can be easy if you develop a good networking plan, improve your networking skills, work at it and practice.

Join me at an event in the greater Sacramento area this month or make sure you're getting my weekly ezine (sign up in the box on the top right corner of the page) to find out where I travel to and network nationwide.  You never know, I might be coming to your home town next?

“I wanted to tell you about my success using a tip I received from you at EntrePalooza.  You know how you go to events and get excited about everything presented.  Then you get back to your office and get caught up in the day to day grind and fail to use what you learned.  This time I was determined I was going to immediately implement at least one thing I learned during the day.

Your tip for following up with new contacts 8-12 times in the first 2 months was my plan.  Since the time I put that in place I have continued to add to the list, and send out new material each week.  At week #5 (after 5 weeks of receiving something from me) I had 5 phone calls in one week regarding our services.  Of those 5 phone calls 3 of those turned into clients for our business.  It has been less than 2 months that I’ve had the program in place, and already seeing success I plan to make this a permanent addition to my marketing plan.  Thank you for the great marketing tip!”

Your list of how to talk to people, everything from a strong handshake(one of my pet peeves, a limp hand) to attending every event you can whether you are tired, don't feel "right", it's raining, too hot, whatever, YOU GO is the best advice you can offer. You network, you listen and you make contacts. You don't give up, because opportunities are often around the next bend. So I have gone, I have listened, I have shaken a lot of hands, and lo and behold, an opportunity has presented itself.

"I have been able to increase my revenue by 3% from the networking that you suggested I do however, the other information you supplied me with in our planning meeting has been the most help and I have increased my return client base by 15%. This is what will sustain a longer, larger return in my business."
