Katrina has been named "The Networking Queen" by her peers and clients ever since she founded her business in 2002. She was always found out mingling at chamber of commerce mixers, business networking events and expos and any event she could attend where her target market would be in attendance. (Now she's networking globally online too!)
Since 2006, Katrina has transformed her local, hourly-fee based business into an international online marketing coaching and info-product company and she loves to help other women entrepreneurs figure out how and what to sell online as well so YOU can live the lifestyle of YOUR dreams!
In Kat's Words...
When I first started my business, I was working hour for dollar with clients in a typical consulting business plus I was actually doing much of the work for many of my clients myself.
I had clients on retainer, some month to month and some just paid me when they needed me. All of my income however depended on how many hours I worked. Can you relate?
Obviously with that type of model it was hard to ever get ahead. Yes of course I could keep raising my rates and I did, little by little of course though as to not tip over the apple cart so to speak. But I realized it would take me years to save for retirement or even be able to start contributing beyond what was already in there from a previous 401K or IRA. Still sounding familiar?
Plus, in addition to that, I was living in an unhappy marriage with a husband who wasn't very supportive of me being an entrepreneur. He was always worried about if I was making enough money to support our lifestyle, if it would keep coming in and he would worry when I wanted to spend money and invest it back in my business (although he had no idea about what I did or what it takes to make it run, market it, etc.).
Not too supportive huh? That's where the concepts for my book, Love Yourself Successful, came from, my own life and so many of my clients were going through the same lack of support in their lives.
My hope is that that scenario DOESN'T sound familiar to you but I do unfortunately see this all the time with my coaching clients and it literally breaks my heart. Because I broke free of that marriage in 2005 and have increased my business every year since. (Watch my video about how the people around you affect your overall success in your business here.)
When I finally found a mentor who showed me a new way to do business - more online, more virtual, more global and more leveraged, I immediately decided to CHANGE EVERYTHING!
I let go of all my retainer clients or weaned them off as soon as they would let me or we could find a replacement ‘to do it girl’. I doubled my rates and developed new programs and services to leverage my time. (LEVERAGE being the key word here….)
I got divorced and surrounded myself with only positive people and people who would support me and encourage me in my big vision.
Now I live the life of my dreams, with a business that I'm passionate about, helping other entrepreneurs make money doing what they're passionate about. I live with a man who adores me and who is the perfect fit for me. And it keeps just getting better every day.
But this is important for you to read (and most importantly to 'hear') because if you're still trading hours for dollars, or still working in a job that you hate or feel like there's more to life than what you're living now even if you're already in your own business….then YOU'RE RIGHT!
